Landlord category mapping in Sage Sole Trader
Description

When you record rental income and expenses in Sage Sole Trader, you select landlord categories.

Sage maps these categories to HMRC UK property categories when it prepares your figures for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax.

Using the correct category ensures your quarterly updates show the right totals for income and allowable expenses.

How category mapping works

  • You record transactions using Sage landlord categories
  • Sage groups those categories into UK property categories
  • Sage uses those totals when you submit updates to HMRC

You don't need to select HMRC categories manually.
