To resolve this:

1. Note the journal name.
2. In Sage 50 Accounts, go to Help then About and click the Data Directory path in the Program Details section.
3. Double-click the JOURNALS folder and select the file.
4. Right-click the file then select Delete.
5. You can then re-enter and memorise the journal again.
