Sage HR Essentials: Invite employees

After you have activated Sage HR, you need to choose which employees you would like to start using the feature.

To invite employees to Sage HR

  1. Select Employees from the menu bar
  2. Select Bulk Actions.
  3. Select the relevant employees, then select Invite to Sage HR.
  4. Once the invitations are complete, you can select Close, or Go to Sage HR.

The Pay Document Preference in each employee record changes to Online.

 NOTE: You can only invite employees to Sage HR if they have a unique email address and a national insurance number in their employee record. 

What the employees will see

Your employee will receive an email invitation to Sage HR. This contains the link to access their employee portal.

The next time you complete your pay run, payslips publish for those employees.

The payslips generates regardless of invite status.

Check if the employee has accepted the invite

  1. Select Employee in the menu bar.
  2. Select the employee in question.
  3. Select Pay Document Preferences.
    • You should see Online highlighted
    • If a Remove HR data button shows the employee has accepted the invitation
    • If a Resend Invitation button is still there, they haven't yet accepted
