Error: Opt in Date is incorrect for The People’s Pension (TPP) submission
Description

When submitting a pension file to TPP, you may encounter an error indicating that the Opt in Date is incorrect. This error occurs when the opt-in date in Sage Payroll doesn't match the date in TPP. A new option called Resolve error has been added to help you correct this issue.

On the Pension Contribution Submission screen where the error shows, click the Resolve error button.

Depending on if the employee's Start Date is before or after the Opt in date, you'll see two different prompts.

If the employee's start date is before the TPP opt-in date:

You'll see information about the different dates used. You must determine whether Sage Payroll, or TPP is correct.

If the employee's start date is after the TPP opt-in date:

You'll see information about the different dates used. You must determine whether Sage Payroll, or TPP is correct.

The opt-in date in Sage Payroll is correct

  1. Choose The opt-in date in Sage Payroll is correct and click Next.
  2. Update the employee’s start date ensuring it's before their Opt-in date.
  3. Contact TPP to update the opt-in date to match Sage Payroll.
  4. Resubmit the pension file.
