On the Pension Contribution Submission screen where the error shows, click the Resolve error button. Depending on if the employee's Start Date is before or after the Opt in date, you'll see two different prompts. If the employee's start date is before the TPP opt-in date:You'll see information about the different dates used. You must determine whether Sage Payroll, or TPP is correct. - Choose The opt-in date in TPP is correct and click Next.
- Click Update opt-in date and close to change the opt-in date in Sage Payroll to match TPP.
- Resubmit the pension file.
- Choose The opt-in date in Sage Payroll is correct and click Next.
- Contact TPP to update the opt-in date to match Sage Payroll.
- Resubmit the pension file.

- Update the employee’s start date ensuring it's before their Opt-in date.
- Click Update opt-in date and close to change the opt-in date in Sage Payroll to match TPP.
