Sage 200 Partner Tools

With the upcoming Sage 200 2023 R2 release we’ve introduced new licence controls for our developer tooling (SDK). As part of this work, we’ve also undertaken a review of the Partner Tools that also accompany product releases.

As nearly 80% of our partners are also a member of our developer program, there is cross over in the provision of the toolkits; as such we’ve taken a decision to retire the Partner Tools effective from this release.

We’ve provided an overview of the Partner Tools below, where you are also a member of the developer program these will be accessed via the Developer Tools downloads only. Per our developer communication on 21st July, this is subject to you having the appropriate active developer subscriptions.

The Partner Tools currently contain:

    • Sage Add On packager (SDBX Package)

This tool has multiple capabilities for partners:

      • - Deploy custom report packs – available workarounds – find out more in our article.

      • - Deploy custom workspaces – available workarounds – find out more in our article.

      • - Deploy custom features – available workaround – find out more in our helpfiles.

    • Query Editor

Is included in workspace designer along with the core product client install so is readily available so not required as standalone utility.

    • Workspace convertor

This tool is designed to convert custom workspaces from pre-Sage 200 2013 versions to later versions. We spoke to those partners who are not also developers, the occurrence of them designing custom workspaces in combination with these versions was very low.

There are workarounds should you need to do this – find out more in our article.

    • Report reset tool

This removes system specific information e.g., default printers etc. We will continue to provide this as a partner tool, a separate download link will be included in this upcoming and all future release communications.
