| Description | To save time before creating your items, consider entering default settings and preferences. These settings include price names, ledger accounts, product weights, and service rates.

| Resolution | After setup, the system automatically enters details when you add a product or service to a transaction. - From Settings, go to Business Settings.
- Select Record and Transactions Settings.
- Scroll down to Products & Services.
 NOTE: Decimal places are set at 2, which is the maximum in Sage Accounting.
Explanation of Products & Services settings Product Prices - Choose default price names or create your own.
- Activate or deactivate product prices.
Default Product Ledger Accounts - Choose the default nominal ledger account for selling products.
- Choose the default nominal ledger account for purchasing products.
Default Stock Ledger Accounts - Choose the default nominal ledger account for purchasing stock.
Weight Settings - Choose the default unit of measure: Metric, Imperial (UK), or Imperial (US).
- Choose the default measurement: Kilogram, Gram, or Tonne.
Service Rates - Use default rate names or create your own.
- Activate or deactivate rates. You can override this in individual product and service records if needed.
Default Service Ledger Accounts - Choose the default nominal ledger account for services.
Sort Order for Product/Service Menus - Sort the order of items displayed by either Description or Item Code.
