Resolution | There are a few ways to get to the Bank Rules page. Depending on what page you're on, select: - Banking, then Manage bank rules
- Actions, Manage bank rules from the bottom right-hand corner of a bank account on the Banking page
- Rules management from the top of the Incoming Bank Transactions page
- If necessary, select an account in the Bank accounts field
- Find and then select to open the relevant bank rule
- Make the required changes and then select Save or select Delete to delete it
Use export and import when you want to use the same bank rules in multiple accounts or businesses. First, you'll need to export bank rules from the account where they're set up. Then you can import them to the other account. Export bank rules- If necessary, select an account in the Bank accounts field.
- Select the bank rules you want to export.
- Select Export from the action toolbar.
- Accounting Start creates a bank rules file (*.json) and saves it in the Downloads folder on your computer.
- Close the Bank Rules page.
- If you are importing them to an account in another business, sign out and then open the other business.
Import bank rules- On the Banking page, select Actions, Manage bank rules on the required bank account.
- Select Import bank rules.
- Select Upload your json file and then browse to the export file to import the bank rules.
- The imported bank rules show on a list in the Bank Rules page.
This moves the rules from one bank account to another. If the rule is inactive, use this to reassign to a new or updated bank feed. The rules for a disconnected bank have no bank account in the Bank Account column and are set to Inactive. - From Banking, select Manage bank rules.
- Select All bank accounts from the drop-down above the rules.
- Use the checkboxes to select the rules you want to keep.
- Select Reassign from the action toolbar.
- Choose the relevant bank account from the Destination Bank Account drop-down list. Then select Reassign rules.
We remove the bank from the rule name, make the rules active and reset the No. of used count to zero.
- If necessary, select an account in the Bank accounts field.
- Select the bank rules you want to copy.
- Select Copy from the action toolbar.
