How do I check if Data management is switched on?
Description

Data management is a new feature designed to make your daily processing as efficient as possible. It notifies you when your data volumes are approaching recommendations, and helps you remove customer and supplier records, audit trail transactions and customer invoices that you no longer want to view regularly. This prevents your data building up and slowing down your daily tasks and processes.

Switch on Data management

Data management is enabled by default in Sage 50 Accounts Professional and below. In Sage 50 Accounts Client Manager you must enable it. To check this in your company data:

  1. Click Settings, click Company Preferences.
  2. If prompted, enter your password, then click Parameters.
  3. Ensure the Enable Data management check box is selected, then click OK.

Data management monitors your data volume to maximise software performance. If your data volume starts to approach the recommendations, you see a notification in the top-right of your software window.

Next steps

If you see the View Data management notification in your software, it's time to review your data. Alternatively, you can check it at any time without waiting for a notification.
