| Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP) doesn't calculate for a second child |
Description | After entering SPP details to an employee's record for a second child, you may find that there is no SPP calculating to be paid. Sage 50 Payroll records how many weeks of SPP have been paid to an employee in their year to date values, if this value remains at 2 weeks paid from a prior child it must be removed to allow a new entitlement to calculate. NOTE: The same steps apply for Manual Adoption Pay. |
Resolution | Check the employee's SPP entitlement- Double-click the relevant employee, then click the Absence tab.
- Click the S.P.P. button, then click the Entitlement tab.
- Check the number of Weeks against the Previously Paid row.
NOTE: If this is 2.00, due to a prior period of SPP, no new SPP will calculate. - Click OK, then click Close.
Clear the weeks paid- Double-click the relevant employee.
- Click the Employment tab, then click YTD Values.
- Click the Statutory Payments tab.
- Under Paternity Pay, in Weeks Paid SPP, change the value 0.00.
- Click OK.
- Click Save, then click Close.
- To check if SPP is now calculating, select the employee.
- Click Payroll, then click Enter Payments.
- Click the Summary tab, check the SPP amount.
