Notice 22-EM | 04 March 2022

Sage 200 Upgrades for Licence Expiry, TLS and Internet Explorer

Dear Partner,

We last wrote to you on 01 February to provide you with further updates regarding customer upgrades due to technology changes/retirement. We have a couple of further updates to share with you.

Update availability

The updates for the Sage Licensing Service are ready now:

  • Sage Licensing Service (SLS) – click here to access
    • Spring 2018 (2017.02)
    • Summer 2018 (2018.00 – excl. remastered version)
    • Winter 2018 (2018.01)
    • Spring 2019 (2018.02)

The updates for Bank Feeds and Invoices Payments, connected to Internet Explorer retirement, are still in development and are coming soon. They will be added here as soon as they are ready so please check back soon:

  • Bank Feeds (Internet Explorer retirement)
    • Summer 2018 up to and including 2020 R1 (6 versions)
    • This is only required for customers who use the Bank Feeds service and the impact is minimal.
  • Invoice Payments (Internet Explorer retirement)
    • Summer 2018 up to and including 2021 R1 (8 versions)
    • This functionality represents a small subset of customers, so the impact is minimal.

Version number alignment

Since version 2019, Sage 200 Professional has provided us with a notification as to the version number that the customer is using.

As part of the licence updates, we’ve also added this capability to provide a more accurate view of our customer base.

To ensure that we have an accurate overview of our customer base, it is essential that the customers do not use the same serial number within their Test & Recovery Licence - this will be evident on our reporting. We need your support in ensuring this is actioned and this is something we’ve communicated previously.

In the short term, this does not replace your need to notify us of the upgrade, or for a Test & Recovery (T&R) licence to be in place to perform an upgrade.

    • Where a T&R licence is already in place, and we have a customer registration form on file, simply email [email protected].
    • Where a T&R licence is already in place, and we don’t have the customer registration form on file, you will need to complete the registration form and notify us of the upgrade by emailing [email protected].
    • Where a customer does not have a T&R licence registered to their account, you will need to submit your Purchase Order to [email protected] including a notification of the version numbers you need for both the live and T&R copies. If we don’t have customer registration form on file, this is also required.

Customer Communication

Last month your Partner Account manager shared the proposed copy for the customer communication we’ll be sending – thank you to those of you who shared feedback. We’re making the final changes now and will be looking to issue the communication week commencing 14 March.

      • Customers on version 2013 up to and including Winter 2017 will receive an email.
      • All other versions will receive an in-product Launchpad message.

In both cases, these will be directed to an interactive article where they can validate their version and receive a clear view of the changes with a call to action to discuss further with their Partner.

Got a question?

The overview document is available for you to access which contains some FAQs and we ask you to refer to this in the first instance, ensuring you are using the latest version.

If your enquiry is of a technical or support nature, please contact the relevant support team as usual. Alternatively, for any other queries, please speak to your Partner Account Manager.
