Setting up and removing 2-factor authentication in the Sage Provisioning Portal

Two-factor authentication requires an additional passcode to access your account. This passcode will be accessed via your mobile device and you need to enter this to complete your log in. The passcode changes every time you log in.

This means your account is secure, even if your email address and password are accidentally shared.

TIP: The setup will require an Authenticator app to be used such as Google Authenticator. To avoid issues, make sure you have this installed on your mobile device prior to setup.

Setting up 2-factor authentication >>

Log into the Sage Provisioning Portal using your email address and password.
Click your profile name in the top right hand corner of the website and select Security options.
Select 2-factor authentication and then click Send Email.
You'll receive an email like as below, click the Enrole in multi-factor authentication link in the email.
You'll need to scan a QR code with an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator) on your mobile device. This will give you a 6 digit code which can be entered in the box below, click Continue.
TIP: If you don't have an autenticator app you can verify using a phone number and message via the Verify a different way link.
A recovery code is displayed on the next screen, ensure this is taken note of then select the 'I have safely recorded this code' box and click Continue.
CAUTION: It is imperative that this code is copied and kept, this allows you to access your account if you don't have use of the mobile device.

2-factor authentication is now be set up on your account. When logging into the Sage Provisioning Portal a prompt for a 6-digit code will appear which you will access via the authenticator app on your mobile device. You also have the option to resend the code or use the recovery code taken down during the setup.

When logging into products such as Sage 200 Standard/Education, Sage 200 Extra Online and Sage 200 Professional (deployed via Sage Provisioning Portal), you will receive the same prompt as above.

Removing 2-factor authentication >>

Log into the Sage Provisioning Portal using your email address and password.
Click your profile name in the top right hand corner of the website and select Security options.
Select 2-factor authentication on the screen below.
Click Remove and enter your password, you may be prompted to enter a code.
Once removed, the window below appears to confirm MFA has been disabled.

When logging into an associated Sage product or the Sage Provisioning Portal, you will no longer be prompted to enter a code. This can be re-enabled at any time.
