When you try to make a submission to HMRC, you may receive the error:

7802 'You have not been invited to submit this submission type'

There are two reasons for this:

• The Tax Dist/Ref or Accounts Office Reference are incorrect in your Sage software
  
  or
  
  
• HMRC aren't expecting RTI submissions from you

Check and correct the references

Tax Dist/Ref

1. Click Company.
2. From the Tasks window, choose Settings.
3. In the Details tab, ensure the correct information is entered in the Tax Dist/Ref field.
4. Click OK.

Accounts Office Reference

1. Click Company.
2. From the Tasks window, choose Settings.
3. In the HMRC Payments tab, ensure the correct information is entered in the Accounts Office Reference field.
4. Click OK.

HMRC aren't expecting your submission

If HMRC aren't expecting RTI submissions from you, contact HMRC to discuss this with them.
