Description

When you reconnect to Remote Data Access after working offline, if other users have made changes to your accounts data since you went offline, the following message appears:

To overwrite these changes with your local changes, click Upload data.
To overwrite your local changes with changes made by other sites, click Download data.
To continue working offline and upload your data at a later time, click Work offline.'

To help you choose the option that's right for you, we'll go through the choices in some more detail.

Cause
Resolution

Keep your changes and overwrite others

If the changes you've made while working offline take priority over changes made by other users, you can choose the Upload data option.

This has the following effects:

  • Colleagues at other Remote Data Access sites will lose any changes they made while you were working offline.
  • The changes you made while offline are uploaded and synced to all other sites.

Once you click Upload data, you have the option to back up your local data before it uploads.

Discard your changes and download the latest data

If you've been working offline but now want to discard your changes and get the latest shared data, including any changes made by colleagues since you went offline, you can choose the Download data option.

This has the following effects:

  • The changes you made while offline are discarded.
  • The data syncs and you can see all changes made by colleagues at other sites while you were working offline.

Once you click Download data, you have the option to back up your local data before the new changes download.
