How is access to the portal granted for Sage Partners?

For partners who are new to the portal, they are required to attend the relevant training courses. Once complete, the Partner Enablement team will grant access to that product within the Sage Provisioning Portal.

This will typically be completed within 48 hours of course completion for the minimum required delegates. It is required that all portal users complete training and must conform to our usage parameters and guidance

NOTE: Access to the portal may be revoked at any time where the usage parameters and guidance have not been followed.

Where partners are wishing to extend which product variants they resell, how do they obtain access to the new product?

Partners are required to attend the required training courses.

Once complete, the Partner Enablement team will grant access to that product within the Sage Provisioning Portal. Please refer to the Sage Partner Hub for details of the minimum required training for the product you wish to resell.

This will typically be completed within 48 hours of course completion for the minimum required delegates.

It is required that all portal users complete training and must conform to our Usage parameters and guidance

What happens if we do not maintain accreditation?

Where partners don’t maintain the minimum accreditation for a product variant, their access will be removed until the obtain it. This will mean that they cannot provision new sites but they will be able to manage existing ones.

What are the role types within the portal?

The following roles are available within the portal:

  • Partner Support Agent
  • Partner Operations Agent
  • Partner Administrator

How should roles be assigned to users?

Partners should ensure that your team have the necessary access to their role and should not give them more functionality than they need.

We’d suggest the following:

  • Partner Support Agent – Support Agents/ Technicians of a business partner
  • Partner Operations Agent – Implementation consultants/ Sales consultants/ Loyalty agents
  • Partner Administrator – responsible parties within the organisation who will operate & control user access and governance.

Users can have multiple roles if required but should not be needed in most circumstances.

I need to add a new user but the person is out of the office, what do I do?

Sage employees will not add users to the site under any circumstances, partners should set up their portal access to ensure they can operate at all times.

How is individual user access granted to the portal?

Access is granted on a per-user basis and must be set up in accordance with our Usage parameters and guidance

Each user ID is unique and can only belong to one partner organisation.

Where a partner already has access to the portal and is simply adding a new user to the portal, the partner administration user should add the user in.

I am based in the UK and I wish to sell to a customer in Ireland or vice versa - can I do that?

Yes however, the Sage Provisioning Portal has separate platforms for UK and Ireland. Note that they also bill in their respective currencies.

Partners will need to be set up as a partner organisation in the other Operating Company if they aren’t already. In these cases, they will not be able to re-use their existing Sage ID.

We’d suggest creating an email alias with your IT department. For example, if you more regularly sell in the UK region, use your business email address as your Sage ID login for this eg.  [email protected]. Then create an alias email address such as [email protected] for use with the Ireland platform. Or the reverse, depending on where you primarily trade.

Please note it is not possible to move a customer from the UK to Ireland portals for any product. A new deployment will need to be completed and the existing subscription will need to be cancelled in all cases. The same applies if they need to be billed in an alternative currency. It’s very important the customer is set up in the right operating company:

  • UK for UK and Northern Ireland (Pounds Sterling)
  • Ireland for the Republic of Ireland (Euros)
