Sage 50cloud Accounts - Important Software Update Notice 21-DD | 06 May 2021
Dear Partner,
As you’ll be aware we’re making changes to our Sage ID infrastructure, these changes mean that we are replacing our current Sage ID offering. The latest version of Sage ID is not backward compatible with the existing in market version of Sage ID and therefore this will mean changes for customers.
The old version of Sage ID connected to Sage 50cloud Accounts will be switched off from 17 June 2021 (delayed from 31 May) and this will impact use of Remote Data Access (formerly Sage Drive).
To focus on supporting small businesses with the very best services needed today and in future, on occasions we need to adapt the software we provide in order to continue to offer value. As a result, Remote Data Access will no longer be available to Sage 50cloud Accounts licences which are not subscription.
As a Sage Partner, it’s essential you’re aware of these changes and have all of the information you need to hand, ensuring you can support customers and help them manage through these changes. What does this mean for customers?Customers with subscription licencesFor customers wishing to continue using, or wanting to start using, Remote Data Access, they need to be on Sage 50cloud Accounts v27 to ensure no disruption to their services. The upgrade will need to be completed before the 17 June 2021. Customers without subscription licencesThere'll be no change to the Sage 50cloud Accounts software itself. Beyond 17 June 2021, customers will not be able to use Remote Data Access with their current Sage 50cloud Accounts licence. Customers can use our Help Centre article to understand if they would require Remote Data Access in the future. If they need this functionality, their options include upgrading their licence to our Sage 50cloud Accounts subscription plans or they can explore other options such as Sage Business Cloud Accounting or Sage 200cloud Standard. What does this mean for customers? This amount of customers impacted is minimal and we’ll be writing to all customers directly, informing them of the next steps based on their licence and if they are using Remote Data Access.
Those with subscription licences, we’ll remind them to upgrade before 17 June 2021. |
