Where can I see debt analysis information?
Description

You can measure your company's debt collection performance by calculating the average time it takes to collect your debts. The Debt analysis option helps you to do this and you should use it at the end of a sales period, for example, at the end of each month, as part of your month end. Let's take a look.

The Debt Analysis window

NOTE: This option is not available in Sage 50 Accounts Essentials.

The Debt Analysis window is split into three areas:

  • Days Sales Outstanding - This shows if your company is collecting its debts effectively. In the form of a graph, it shows how many days' worth of sales are outstanding and not paid for at any given time.
  • Days Sales Overdue - This shows how well your customers are meeting their payment terms. You can use this information to see if your customers are good payers, or if you need to improve your debt collection processes.
  • Details - This shows the number of days sales are outstanding and overdue for each customer, plus the amounts due. It also shows average values for all customers.
