1. On the Reporting menu, click Trial Balance.
2. On the Period list, click Custom.
3. In the Period box, enter This Finacial Year or Last Finacial year.
   This report should be run for the same period as the trial balance in Sage 50 Accounts.
4. Click Calculate.

The values in Accounting should match the values on the trial balance you produced in Sage 50 Accounts before you migrated the data.

You can also run your balance sheet and profit and loss for the same date range you used in Sage 50 Accounts and check the values are the same.

• On the Reporting menu, click More.
• Click Aged Debtors then in the To box, enter the date you ran the report up to in Sage 50 Accounts.
• Check the value in the O/S Amt matches the value in the Balance column on the report from Sage 50 Accounts.
• Repeat these steps for the Aged Creditors report.

You should check the chart of accounts in Accounting is correct by comparing this to the Trial Balance report you ran in Sage 50 Accounts. To view the chart of accounts, in Accounting, click Settings then click Chart of Accounts, or you can print it.

1. In Accounting, click Reporting then click More.
2. Click Chart of Accounts then click Export then chose CSV or PDF.

Your nominal ledger accounts are available in all areas within Accounting. If necessary, you can change this by amending the visibility settings. This means you can only see those nominal ledger accounts relevant to the transactions you're entering, making it easier to find what you need. To amend the visibility:

1. Click Settings, then click Chart of Accounts.
2. Click the relevant nominal ledger account and amend the Visibility section as required.
3. Click Save.

1. In Sage 50 Accounts, click VAT then click VAT Return.
2. Check the dates are for your next VAT period then click Calculate VAT Return.
3. If prompted there are unreconciled transactions, click Include.
4. In Accounting, click Reporting then click VAT Returns.
5. Click Create VAT Return then enter the same date range and click Calculate.
6. Check the values for each box are the same.

1. Click the Banking tab then click your main bank account.
2. Compare the balance to the book balance in Sage 50 Accounts.
3. Click the Reconciliations tab and compare the reconciled balance to the last reconciled balance in Sage 50 Accounts.

Check any additional bank balances and create any new accounts if needed. Read more >
