What is the Fair Use Policy (FUP)?
As part of our commitment to providing excellent quality and a reliable service, Sage operates a Fair Use Policy on its hosted service. The Fair Usage Policy, or FUP as it's commonly referred to, ensures that all customers using the hosting services get fair and equal access to the service.
We have tested the application up to 50 concurrent app users. We have also tested the application up to 100 concurrent web users. You may experience unexpected issues with the system if operating outside of these parameters. There are other factors that can influence system performance, please refer to our system requirements for more information.
We have applied a technical limitation in the software to protect the quantity of data that is submitted to the service. This limitation will activate when approximately 150 total users, including web users have been added to the site. There are a variety of factors that determine the limit, so in some instances it may activate slightly above 150 users. However, once the upper threshold is reached no further users can be added to that site. We would recommend that you factor the number of web users required into your decision and that you do not add more users than you need at any given time.
NOTE: In these instances, you will see ‘Failed’ in the assignment status for that user. You will need to speak to technical support to discuss your options as your user list will need to be refined.
You can delete users you no longer required by following these steps. We also have additional information explaining how to assign and unassign users. Where there are large numbers of web users active on a site, we will closely monitor the use of our support service and our Support Fair Usage Policy will also apply.
Why has an FUP been implemented?
We have an obligation to make sure that all customers who pay for our hosting service receive the best possible service at all times and we must provide it to all our customers in an equal proportion.
