When submitting your VAT Return under Making Tax Digital, the following message can appear:

'Your VAT Registration Number is invalid. Please check this in Settings, Company Preferences, VAT tab.'

Check your VAT Registration Number

1. On the menu bar, go to Settings then select Company Preferences.
2. If prompted, enter your password then click OK.
3. Select the VAT tab then in the VAT Reg field:
   
   • Enter your correct VAT Registration Number
   • Ensure only your nine-digit number is in the field. Remove any extra characters or spaces, including GB
4. Click OK to close the window.
