When submitting your VAT Return under Making Tax Digital, the following message may appear:

'Your VAT Registration Number is invalid. Please check this in Settings > Company Preferences > VAT tab.'

To resolve this, check your VAT registration number in Company Preferences.

1. On the menu bar click Settings, then click Company Preferences.
2. If prompted, enter your password then click OK.
3. Click the VAT tab then in VAT Reg:
   
   • Enter your correct VAT registration number.
   • Remove additional characters such as spaces and dashes.
4. Click OK.
