When importing your VAT Returns, if your login password is longer than 10 characters, you must only enter the first 10 characters, otherwise an invalid password message appears.

1. Before you can submit your VAT Return, you must import your VAT Returns from Microsoft Excel, Sage 50 Accounts, TASBooks or Sage 200.
2. Once you're happy with the figures, in the Sage MTD Adaptor, click Submit VAT Return and click Next.
3. Check the company name and VAT registration number are correct, then click Next.
4. In the Gov.uk Sign In window, click Continue.
5. Enter your MTD user ID and password, click Sign in then click Continue.
6. Select a method to receive your access code, click Continue and follow the on-screen prompts.
7. In Access Code enter the code you received, then click Continue.
8. Click Continue then click Grant Authority.
9. Under Submit your period, in the drop-down click the period you want to submit for.
10. Click the confirmation check box then click Submit to HMRC.
11. When the successful submission window appears, click Close.
