Before you can submit your VAT Returns under Making Tax Digital (MTD), you must first sign up for MTD with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

If you're not sure if you've signed up with HMRC for MTD, to check this you can:

• Check your emails - When you're successfully signed up for MTD you receive a confirmation email from HMRC. This may take up to 72 hours to arrive.
• If you can't find your confirmation email, contact HMRC to confirm if you're successfully signed up.
