You don't need to delete these folders in v27.2 and above.
Clear the temporary folder
- Press and hold down the Windows key and press R.
- Type %temp%, then click OK.
- Press Ctrl + A then press Delete.
- Click Yes.
CAUTION: This deletes all the files in your temporary folder. This may affect other software, if you're not sure, check with your IT support.
Disable your antivirus software
- Temporarily disable your antivirus software.
For help disabling your antivirus software, please contact your IT support.
End any Sage processes
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
- Select Task Manager and click the Processes tab.
- Locate and click Sage.Central.AutoUpdateManager.Service.exe.
- Click End Process or End task.
- End any other processes that begin with Sage or sg.
- Install the software again.
If the problem persists continue to follow the steps below. If you're unsure on how to complete any of these steps, we recommend you speak to your local IT support.
Amend permissions
- Press and hold down the Windows key and press R.
- Type explorer, then click OK.
- Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)
If your computer is 32 bit browse to C:\Program Files.
- Right-click Common Files and click Properties.
- Click the Security tab, then click Advanced.
- Click the Owner tab then click Edit.
Windows 8 and 10 - Right-click Common Files > Properties > Security > Advanced > Change.
- In the Change Owner to section, select Administrators.
- Click OK, then click Apply.
Windows 8 and 10 - under Enter the objects name to select, enter Administrator > Check Names > OK.
If a message appears advising to close the Permissions window, click OK.
- Right-click Common Files and click Properties.
- Click the Security tab then click Edit.
- Give everyone Full Access, except the CREATOR OWNER.
- Click OK, then click Apply.
- Repeat steps 4 to 8 for the Sage folder.
Double-click the Sage folder.
- Repeat steps 4 to 8 for the AccountsServicevXX
NOTE: vXX denotes the version number.
- Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)
If your computer is 32 bit browse to C:\Program Files.
- Double-click Common Files then double-click Sage.
- Double-click Central then double-clickAutoUpdateClient.
- Right-click each file in the AutoUpdateClient folder.
- Click Properties then the Security.
- Click Advanced, then click the Owner tab.
- Check the owner is Administrators.
- Ensure that the permissions and folder owner applied to Common files are applied to:</ br>
- Sage
- Central
- AutoupdateClient
- Install the software again.
