Payslips have been e-mailed to the wrong address
Description

If you have set up an employee with the wrong e-mail address, they won't receive payslips (or P60 or any other documents) e-mailed to them from the program.

Once you have corrected the employee's e-mail address in the program, if you try to resend these they will be sent to the original (incorrect) e-mail address.

This is because when the original e-mail is sent, a historic record is created which includes the address the e-mail was sent to. The e-mail address in this record isn't updated when you change the employee's e-mail address in Perm. Data.

Resolution

As a workaround, save the payslip as a PDF and attach to an e-mail outside of the program.

  1. Click Payroll, double-click Emailing Documents, then click Employee Document History.
  2. Use the Lookup to select the employee.
  3. Highlight the period that you want the payslip for.
  4. Click View then click Yes.
  5. Click Yes to open the PDF.
  6. Save the PDF to your PC and then attach it to an e-mail. Please note that the PDF will not be encrypted or password protected.

Alternatively, you can save the payslip as a PDF from the Last Payslip screen:

  1. Click Payroll, double-click Perm. Data, then click Last Payslip.
  2. Select the employee using the Lookup
  3. Highlight the payslip you want to send.
  4. Click View Actual Payslip.
  5. Click Output To
  6. Select PDF. Click OK click Yes. The PDF opens.
  7. From here you can save the PDF and attach it to an e-mail.
