Download and install the Sage MTD for VAT Submissions Module for Sage 50 Accounts
Description

Sage 50 Accounts is Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliant and you can use it to submit VAT Returns for individual companies once it has been enabled in your software.

However, if you have multiple companies set up in Sage 50 Accounts under the same VAT registration number, to submit a single VAT Return for the group under Making Tax Digital (MTD) you will need to use the Sage MTD for VAT Submissions Module. This module is compatible with Sage 50 Accounts v23.2 and above.


TIP: The Sage MTD for VAT Submissions Module is available free of charge with a Sage 50 Accounts subscription.

If you have already previously purchased the MTD module you can get your MTD module details from your My Sage account.

Download the module

  1. Click the following link:

  2. If prompted to save the file, note the file name, then click Save.

    Depending on your browser, the file may automatically save to your downloads folder. To open your downloads folder, on your keyboard press Ctrl+J.

Install the module

We recommend you install the module on the computer you use to generate your VAT Returns.


  1. Close all software then browse to the downloaded file.
  2. Double-click the SageMTDSubmissionsModule.msi file.
  3. Click Next, select the I accept the terms of the Agreement check box, then click Next.
  4. Click Install, then click Finish.
  5. On the Windows desktop, double-click the Sage MTD for VAT shortcut.
  6. Enter your Sage account number and your serial number then click OK.

    TIP: You can find these on your Subscription Confirmation email. Alternatively, you can also use your Sage 50 Accounts serial number as shown in Help and About.



Once you register with HMRC for Making Tax Digital, you can use the module to submit your VAT Returns.
