A successful, complete submission has been made
If a successful, complete submission has been made for the tax district and reference you are submitting for, no further action is required as HMRC have received your year end returns. You will have received a confirmation email from HMRC, sent to the address specified in your e-Submission Settings within your software, you can check for this in the IR Secure Mailbox.
You are trying the resubmit your return due to an error
If you are trying to submit a correction to your original submission, or you are trying to submit additional information for the tax district and reference, you can't do this from your Sage software, as the HMRC systems already have a record of a complete submission.
To submit a correction for a previous submission, visit www.hmrc.gov.uk and from the Do it online section, click Log in then click PAYE for employers. From here you can log in to the HMRC Online Services area to make an amendment submission.
- If a correction is required to the P35 only, you only need to make an entry for the boxes that need correcting.
- If a correction is required to an employee's P14, you must add the employee and enter all of their relevant values into the appropriate boxes. As a result of making a correction to a P14, you may also need to make a correction to the P35, but you only need to make an entry for the boxes that need correcting.
- If a correction is required to the P11D(b) only, you only need to make an entry for the boxes that need correcting.
- If a correction is required to the P11D, you may also need to make a correction to the P11D(b).
