Description

There may be times when you need to delete a car record in Sage 50 Payroll. For example, if there's a problem and you need to create the record again.

Delete a car and mileage record

If you're not certain whether you need to keep car or mileage details, contact HMRC for advice.

  1. Back up your data.
     NOTE: The only way you can recover a car record after deleting it is to restore a backup from before you deleted it. 
  2. Select the relevant employee, click Employee then click Employee Record.
  3. Under the Cars/Fuel tab, Check the correct car details appear.
    • If the employee has more than one car, click the finder button to the right of the Car Registration box. Select the registration number of the relevant car then click OK
  4. Click Remove Car, then click the relevant option:
    • Remove Mileage, retain record to keep the car details and delete the Mileage record only
    • Remove ALL details to delete all car details and mileage information
  5. Click Finish then Yes to confirm the deletion of the car and mileage records.
  6. Click Save then click Close.

You've now deleted the employee's car and mileage record.
