Information you can import into Sage 50 Payroll
Description

The Data Import option allows you to import information using Comma Separated Value (CSV) files. Also, the Advanced Data Import wizard lets you import of data from Microsoft Excel (.XLS) files or .CSV files.

Employee DetailsImport employee details to create new employee records and update existing records.
Employee Year to Date FiguresImport employee year to date figures into existing employee records.
Assign Employee DeductionsImport deductions including hours, rates and whether the deduction is in use, directly into employees' records. This import only works to assign new deductions to an employee. You can't use it to update hours or rates for existing elements in the employee record.
Assign Employee PaymentsImport payments, including hours, rates and whether the payment is in use, directly into employees' records. This import only works to assign new payments to an employee. It doesn't update hours or rates for existing elements in the employee record.
Company Cost CentresImport cost centres at a company level.
Company DeductionsImport deductions at a company level.
Company DepartmentsImport departments at a company level.
Company Holiday SchemesImport holiday schemes at a company level.
Company Loan DetailsImport loans at a company level.
Company Net PaymentsImport net payments at a company level.
Company PaymentsImport payments at a company level.
Company Pension SchemesImport pension schemes at a company level.
Company User Names and Access RightsImport user names and their related access rights. Passwords don't import as part of the routine and you must reset instead.

NOTE: You can't import the user name Manager. If you try the import fails. Any other user names on the template still import.

Employee Deductions (Hours and Rates)You can import employee deduction information for existing employees. This import only updates the hours and/or rates in enter payments.  It doesn't update the hours/rates in the employee record.

You can import employee payment information for existing employees. This import only updates the hours and/or rates in enter payments. It doesn't update the hours/rates in the employee record.

NOTE: You can't use this import routine for factor payments as it only imports hours and rates.
