| National minimum/living wage - Check your pay element settings |
Description | The National Minimum Wage (NMW) is the minimum hourly rate that most employees are entitled to. The National Living Wage is higher than the NMW and applies to employees who are aged 21 and over. View the rates. TIP: For help to identify which payments and deductions to include in your calculation, please contact HMRC.
You can specify which payments and deductions are to be included in the minimum wage calculations, and whether or not both the hours/no and rate are included, or just the rate. |
Resolution | Check your pay elements- Click Company then click Pay Elements.
- Select the required payment then click Edit.
- To include the rate for this payment from the minimum wage calculations, select the Include Rate in Minimum Wage calculation check box.
- To exclude the hours/no for this payment from the minimum wage calculations, clear the Include Hours/No in Minimum Wage calculation check box.
- You may want to exclude the hours where you enter a value of 1, for example, a one off payment such as a bonus.
- If this is a a Factor payment, to specify that this payment has a premium element, select the This payment includes a premium element check box.
- Ensure all other settings for this payment are correct then click OK.
- To edit further payments, repeat from step 2.
- To edit a deduction, click the Deductions tab.
- Select the required deduction then click Edit.
- To exclude the rate for this deduction from the minimum wage calculations, clear the Include Rate in Minimum Wage calculation check box.
- To exclude the hours/no for this deduction from the minimum wage calculations, clear the Include Hours/No in Minimum Wage calculation check box.
- Ensure all other settings for this deduction are correct then click OK.
To edit further deductions, repeat from step 7.
NOTE: If you clear the Include Rate in Minimum Wage calculation check box, the Include Hours/No in Minimum Wage calculation check box automatically clears and deactivates.[BCB:127:Limitless - 50 Payroll - Calculations:ECB] [BCB:177:Mia - B:ECB] |
