As a member of the Sage 200 Services community, you are able to request up to 3 reports to be designed to your specification. Further details on your entitlement can be found below.

Sage 200 Standard

Sage 200 Standard is our new flexible online accounting solution supported directly by Sage. Sage 200 Services Report Design includes 3 reports designed per contract year and, great news if you've used up your entitlement, you can buy more with our reporting bundles. NOTE: Reports / Layouts / Letters used within Sage 50 Accounts cannot be converted for use in Sage 200 Standard Online. Use the Sage 200 Services Report Design offering outlined above to create your reports. A selection of reports similar to Sage 50 Accounts standard reports are available to download free of charge, press F1 within your program and search for 'Install additional reports'.

2 - Report Design Scope - See below for a list of report types currently not supported

Report Design Scope

The following report types are currently not supported, either as part of the free allowance or as a chargeable request.

There are some scenarios we’re unable to accommodate through this service because they fall outside our current support boundaries. This may be due to factors such as:

Specific legislative or government reporting requirements
Data being held across separate tables with no unique field to link them together
Required functionality not being available within the Sage 200 program

These limitations are outlined below.

Outside support boundaries

Reports generated using Financial Statement Layouts, or any report required to meet legislative or compliance standards, are not supported. This includes, but is not limited to, Profit and Loss, Trial Balance, Balance Sheets, Income and Expenditure, Statements of Financial Activities, and most Budget-related reports.

NOTE:

Exceptions to this include simple formatting updates - such as changes to decimal places, font sizes, colours - or adding calculations to existing reports, provided the required data fields are already available within the report.

Monthly or quarterly column‑based reports for Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, or Trial Balance.

Financial Statement Layouts (instructions around this feature can be found here)

Any cash flow/forecast report

Sage 200 Manufacturing (this product became end of support from 31/12/2025)

Invoice profitability that include credits (this is due to the program not knowing what invoice the item originated from to get the correct cost price)

Reports showing VAT codes or values attached to nominal codes/cash book accounts/customer transactions/supplier transactions (these values are posted into separate data tables by the program with no unique link between them)

Aged Debtors or Creditors reports which balance against the Trial Balance based on the accounting period (how to investigate differences can be found here)

Aged Debtors or Creditors reports by nominal transaction account number, cost centre or department

Aged Debtors or Creditors reports with VAT / Net breakdown amounts

Any type of stock valuation report (this includes adding anything relating to warehouse or bin locations)

Aged Stock Reports are only available for Sage 200 Professional 2015 and above. They cannot be created for retrospective purposes.

Nominal transaction reports with brought forward values based on periods (there is no functionality within report design to produce the brought forward value)

Reports linking to custom tables designed by a 3rd party i.e. Business Partners/Developers/Sicon Manufacturing

Modifications to reports not designed or deployed by Sage

Reports for export to file types such as, but not exclusive to, csv/Excel/txt/XML for uploading into 3rd party software (this includes government sites) or importing back into another Sage 200 program

Project Accounting - Profit and Loss or Balance Sheet reports

Excel Reporting

Excel reports utilising any linking tool such as ODBC/Excel Integrated Reporting or Excel Reporting for any Sage program

BOM Implosion reports

Price Book/Lists/Discount Groups

User access rights to program areas (this information is not held within the Report Designer tables)

Plastic Packaging Tax (more information on our approach can be found here)

Any type of VAT Return/MTD Submission

Any type of Intrastat report

Any type of drill down report

Any report with transient data tables applied to it

Any report not related to Sage 200 or is linked to an area currently outside of the scope of this service, e.g. Sage Payroll report or Sage 200 CRM

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)/Late Payment legislation reports

We currently do not design reports for WTE (Web Time and Expenses) part of Project Accounting, BI (Business Intelligence) and CRM

Reports with sub-reports, unless the sub report populates a single field on a main report

Troubleshooting errors with reports or layouts

Reconciliation of data, all reports will be designed utilising demo data, where necessary links to variables within customer data will be made

Legacy Report Designer (applicable to 2010 & 2011)

Reports and layouts won't be designed for product versions earlier than Sage 200 Extra 2010 Service Pack 3

Any kind of graphic design including construction of company logos, if a logo is needed to be added to a report/layout we will require a compatible image file

Report reconciliation i.e. comparing figures on reports

Business Intelligence reports

To ensure data collated on column based reports is correct when exported to Excel, only 30 columns are possible at any one time

To offer you the best experience follow this process.

Booking a Report Design appointment

To request a customised report or layout, please follow the steps outlined below. You must be an active Sage 200 Services member to access your annual entitlement of three bespoke report designs included with your contract. If you are a Sage Business Partner requesting a report on behalf of a customer, you must first obtain written confirmation by email from the customer, as the request will be deducted from their entitlement. We will ask for this authorisation when the appointment takes place.

By submitting this request, you confirm that you are authorised to act on behalf of your company and to request the creation of reports or layouts in its name. To help our design team deliver the best results, please ensure the form is completed in full and includes all relevant information.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your Report Design appointment, you can do so directly through your confirmation email. Alternatively, you can contact the team at [email protected] giving at least 12 hours’ notice.

Prior to the Report Design appointment

If you would like your report or layout to follow the style of an existing Sage 200 report or layout, please prepare your design notes at least 12 hours before your appointment.
To do this:

Print the report or layout you want to base your design on.
Mark your required changes in red ink directly on the printed copy.
Scan and email the annotated document to:

Please make sure your email subject line includes your account number and the date and time of your appointment. Failure to provide this information may result in your appointment being cancelled or rescheduled.

If you require a report or layout to be designed from scratch, you will need to have all the necessary information ready prior to your appointment. To help you prepare, we have created an article outlining all the details we will need before the appointment can take place. You can access it here.

If you would like an image included in your report or layout, it must be supplied at least 12 hours before your appointment. Please note that we do not design or create images.

If you would like us to align your layout to pre‑printed stationery, please supply three original examples of the document (photocopies cannot be accepted) and post them to:

The documents must be received no later than 12 hours before your scheduled appointment.

Report Design appointment

The purpose of the Report Design appointment is to review the report you require so we can confirm whether your requirements can be met and whether they fall within our Report Design scope.

Attempts to contact you will be made up to three times on the day of your appointment. If we are unable to reach you, the appointment will be cancelled and will need to be rebooked.

During the report scope, if there are two basic changes (see Basic & Advanced Changes above) or fewer, we will aim to complete the report over the phone during the initial appointment. However, the Report Design Consultant reserves the right, even in these circumstances, to deliver the completed report as a follow‑up after the initial call.

Please ensure that you have access to Sage 200 during your appointment and that you have a stable Internet connection available.

You agree that any new report design, as well as any amendments completed and deployed during the initial Report Design appointment, are accepted as the agreed final design.

If we are able to make the changes during the initial phone conversation, we will endeavour to complete them. However, as the appointment time is limited to a maximum of 1 hour, it may not be possible to complete the deployment. In this situation, you will be given a choice:

A follow on appointment to complete the deployment.
Instructions provided as to how to deploy the report yourself.

NOTE: By accepting this option, no further technical support will be provided in relation to the deployment of the report.

Please let us know if the design doesn’t look the way you expected—we’re here to help make sure it’s right for you. Your incident will be added to our Report Design queue. As soon as the report is ready, we’ll get in touch to arrange the deployment. We’ll try to contact you twice. If we’re unable to reach you, we’ll send clear instructions so you can deploy the report yourself. At that stage, we won’t be able to offer further technical support, but we’ll make sure you have everything you need to complete the deployment smoothly.

Report delivery

As part of our Report Design Service, we will deploy the report to your server and add it to the menu for Sage 200 users specified by you. After the deployment is complete, we will email you all the relevant information, including the report file itself.

NOTE: To deploy the report, we’ll need to connect to your PC. We use LogMeIn for this secure remote connection. If we’re unable to access your system—for example, due to permissions or security restrictions—we won’t be able to complete the deployment for you. In that case, we’ll provide clear step‑by‑step instructions so you can deploy the report on your site.

Once the report is delivered, you will have 5 working days to review and validate the design of the report or layout.

If we don’t hear from you within this timeframe, we’ll assume the report meets your requirements. Your report entitlement will then be updated accordingly, and the incident associated with your request will be closed.
If you feel that further amendments are needed, we will review your request against our list of basic and advanced changes. Up to two basic changes can be completed free of charge and will not reduce your remaining entitlement. Please note that we provide one set of post‑delivery changes for each report.
If your request includes more than two basic changes, any advanced changes, or additional sets of changes beyond the one provided after delivery, a new report scope will be required. When this happens, the existing request will be closed, your report entitlement will be reduced, and the process will restart as a new request.

Post delivery

Should you have any questions regarding your report or layout after the request is closed, these will be handled on a case by case basis. As a general guide, we will offer the following:

We will provide you with the original report design for you to re-deploy to the site to see if this resolves the issue.
We will help you to test other reports or layouts within the software to establish if the issue is report or layout specific.
We will test the report or layout without any criteria amends in Sage 200 Demonstration Data.

If we are satisfied that the issue is data related, we will refer the incident to your Business Partner or Sage 200 Support Team for further investigation.

Exclusions / limitations

Reports will not be designed where data is drawn from a customised table that is not available in non-customised versions of Sage 200.
Not every report request is possible. Where necessary, the Report Design Consultants will discuss this with you during the Report Design appointment.
Not every report will fall within the scope of the Report Design Service. This does not necessarily mean the required report is not possible. In these circumstances, we will advise you to reach out to your Business Partner to action. Please note there may be a charge by your Business Partner to deliver the report or layout for this service which is outside the control of Sage (UK) Ltd. Please see the Report Design Scope option above to check if your report is possible.
Email settings - reports may have email settings applied to them and this is within the scope of our Report Design service. We will provide assistance only for Microsoft Outlook 2016 and above (this currently excludes Microsoft 365).
Report sizing - We will spend a maximum of 0.5 days designing each report/layout. If the complexity of the report or layout warrants taking longer than 0.5 days, this may consume more than one of your report design entitlements/report packs.

This process works in the same way as the inclusive reports so please follow the Report Design Process section, the charge for this starts at £500/€540 (exc.
