| Add a nominal code to your chart of accounts |
Description | When you create a new nominal code, you can see a warning that it's outside the chart of accounts range. You can add the nominal code to the COA, to show the code's value in your profit and loss or balance sheet reports.
|
Resolution | To add a code or a range of codes - Click Nominal codes and click Chart of accounts.
- Select the required Chart of accounts, for example, Default Layout of Accounts, then click Edit.
- Select Profit & Loss or Balance Sheet, depending on which area you want to amend.
- Click the required category, for example, Overheads.
- Click the next blank range and enter the name as you want it to appear on your reports.
- Click the Low column and enter the nominal code you want to add.
- Click the High column and enter the nominal code you want to add.
- Click Save then click Close.
If the message 'Incomplete chart of accounts' appears, click OK. You can then check and correct any errors in your COA. |
