Let's get your software installed. Here are the steps we recommend you follow: 1 - Check you're an administrator- Press the Windows key and R on your keyboard.
- Type netplwiz, then click OK.
- If the User Accounts window appears, you're an administrator.
- If prompted to enter your credentials, you're not an administrator.
To find out your administrator login details, speak to your IT support or someone appropriate within your business.
2 - Log in as an administrator- Restart the computer and log in as an administrator.
- Try to install the software again.
If the problem persists, continue to the next section.
3 - Check the Sage Data Service- Press the Windows key
and press R. - Enter services.msc then click OK.
- Scroll down the list until you locate Sage 50 Accounts Service vXX and note the exact name.
- For example, Sage 50 Accounts Service v27.
- Close the Services window.
- Press the Windows key
and press R. - Type cmd then click OK.
- Type sc delete [service name you noted] then press Enter.
- Type Exit then press Enter.
- Restart the computer and log in as an administrator.
- Try to install the software again.
4 - Disable 'Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption' - Press the Windows key + R.
- In the Run window, enter secpol.msc then click OK.
The Local Security Policy windows appears.
- Expand Local Policies and click Security Options.
- Scroll down and double-click System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing.
- Select Disabled then click OK and close the Local Security Policy window.
