Salary and Supplier Payments application - Partnership ownership and address details
Description

The details you must provide depend on whether your company is a sole trader, partnership or limited company. This article provides help with this if you're a partnership. If you're a sole trader or a limited company, please refer to the following guides:

To enter the partnership ownership and address details

  1. Log in to your Salary and Supplier Payments application > To do now section > click Ownership and address details.
  2. Enter your details as follows:

    Registration details

    Is the business registered with Companies House? If your business is registered with Companies House, select this check box > complete the additional fields below.
    LLP or Limited Partnership Number Enter the Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) number.
    Date of incorporation Enter the LLP's date of incorporation.
    Is the registered address the same as the business address? If the registered address is the same as the business address, select this check box. If not, enter the registered address postcode in capitals > Look up.

    If required, to enter the address manually, click Enter manually instead?

    Business overview

    Type of business (SIC Code Description) Enter the business SIC code. You can enter either your SIC code number or description of the SIC code. A dynamic list pre populates as you type.

    You can find the SIC code on the Company Registration Certificate, or visit the Companies House website. If you don’t have a SIC code, select the nearest description of your business activity.

    Email address Enter your business email address.
    Telephone number Enter your business telephone number.
    Business Address Enter your business postcode in capitals > Look up.

    If required, to enter the address manually, click Enter manually instead?

    Partner

    Are you a partner who is classed as a beneficial owner in the business? If you, as the person applying for a Salary and Supplier Payments account, are a partner and a beneficial owner, select this check box.
    First partner details Enter the first partner's details, including their name, date of birth, nationality, email address and postcode. To search for their address > enter the postcode in capitals > Look up.
    Additional partner details Enter the next partner's details, including their name, date of birth, nationality, email address and postcode. To search for their address > enter the postcode in capitals > Look up.
    Add partner If there are more than two partners in the company, to add further partner details:
    • Click Add partner > enter the partner's name and date of birth > repeat as required.

    TIP: If you click Add Partner but then want to remove the additional partner details section, click Remove Partner.

    Beneficial owner

    Is there a beneficial owner of this business? Salary and Supplier Payments defines a beneficial owner as a party or person who is entitled to or controls 25% or more share of the capital or profits of the partnership, or 25% or more of the voting rights, or otherwise exercises control over the management of the partnership.

    If there's a beneficial owner of your business, choose the type of beneficial owner. You must provide further details about the beneficial owner later in the application process. For more information, please refer to the following section.

  3. To confirm the details > click Confirm and Continue.

To enter beneficial owner details

If when entering the ownership and address details you stated there was a beneficial owner, you must provide further details. We run automated checks to verify the beneficial owner’s details so it’s important to enter accurate information. For help with this, please refer to the relevant section below.

Beneficial owner is a sole trader

  1. From your Salary and Supplier Payments To-do list, click Beneficial owner.
  2. Enter the beneficial owner details as follows:

    Business overview

    Name Enter the name of the beneficial owner's business.
    Type of business (SIC Code Description) Enter the beneficial owner's business SIC code. You can enter either the SIC code number or description of the SIC code. A dynamic list pre populates as you type.

    You can find the SIC code on the Company Registration Certificate, or visit the Companies House website. If you don’t have a SIC code, select the nearest description of the business activity.

    Date trading commenced Enter date the company commenced trading.

    If it hasn't started trading yet, select the Trading has not yet commenced check box.

    Email address Enter the business email address.
    Telephone number Enter the business telephone number.
    Business Address Enter the business postcode in capitals > Look up.

    Business owner

    Please enter the business owner's details below Enter the personal details of the beneficial owner.

    To enter the beneficial owner's home address, enter the postcode in capitals > Look up. If required, to enter the address manually, click Enter manually instead?

  3. To confirm the details > click Confirm and Continue.

Beneficial owner is a partnership

NOTE:  This section appears if the partners entered in the Ownership and address details section are not beneficial owners, but another partner or partnership is.

  1. From your Salary and Supplier Payments To-do list, click Beneficial owner.
  2. Enter the beneficial owner details as follows:

    Registration details

    Is the business registered with Companies House? If the beneficial owner's business is registered with Companies House, select this check box > complete the additional fields below.
    LLP or Limited Partnership Number Enter the Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) number.
    Date of incorporation Enter the LLP's date of incorporation.
    Is the registered address the same as the business address? If the registered address is the same as the business address, select this check box. If not, enter the registered address postcode in capitals > Look up.

    Partner details

    First partner details Enter the beneficial owner company's first partner's details, including their name, date of birth, nationality, email address and postcode. To search for their address > enter the postcode in capitals > Look up. You must also enter a mobile phone number to allow authorisation via their mobile phone.
    Additional partner details Enter the next partner's details, including their name, date of birth, nationality, email address and postcode. To search for their address > enter the postcode in capitals > Look up. You must also enter a mobile phone number to allow authorisation via their mobile phone.
    Add partner If there are more than two partners in the company, to add further partner details:
    • Click Add partner > enter the partner's name and date of birth > repeat as required.

    TIP:  If you click Add Partner but then want to remove the additional partner details section, click Remove Partner.

  3. To confirm the details > click Confirm and Continue.

Beneficial owner is a partner with at least 25% ownership

NOTE: This section appears if the partners entered in the Ownership and address details section are not beneficial owners, but another partner or partnership is.

  1. From your Salary and Supplier Payments To-do list, click Partners with at least 25% ownership.
  2. Add New Partner > enter the details of the first partner with at least 25% share of the business:

    Partner Enter the partner's details, including their name, date of birth, nationality, email address and postcode. To search for their address > enter the postcode in capitals > Look up.

    If required, to enter the address manually, click Enter manually instead?

    Phone numbers Enter a mobile phone number to allow authorisation via their mobile phone.
  3. To add an additional partner > Add New partner > enter the next partners details.
  4. To confirm the details > click Confirm and Continue.

Beneficial owner is a limited company

  1. From your Salary and Supplier Payments To-do list, click Beneficial owner.
  2. Enter the beneficial owner details as follows:

    Business overview

    Name Enter the name of the beneficial owner's business.
    Type of business (SIC Code Description) Enter the business SIC code. You can enter either the SIC code number or description of the SIC code. A dynamic list pre populates as you type.

    Registration details

    Companies House Registration Number Enter the Company Number as registered with Companies House.
    Date of incorporation Enter the company's date of incorporation.
    Is the registered address the same as the business address? If the registered address is the same as the business address, select this check box. If not, enter the registered address postcode in capitals > Look up.

    If required, to enter the address manually, click Enter manually instead?

  3. To add details of any directors > click Add director or shareholder > enter the directors details.
  4. To add details of shareholders with 25% or more shares, or beneficial owners with significant voting rights or control of the company > click Add director or shareholder > enter the shareholder details.
  5. To add details of any shareholding companies of the beneficial owner > click Add Shareholding Company > enter the required details.
  6. To confirm the details > click Confirm and Continue.

You've now entered your beneficial owner details and can continue with the rest of your application.
