Error: 'Error 1935: An error occurred during the installation of assembly component'
Description

This can be due to the following:

  • Windows isn't up to date
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 isn't installed

To resolve this, you need to check for updates and install .NET Framework. For help with .NET Framework, refer to your local IT support or network administrator.

Before following the steps, download and reinstall Sage 50 Payroll using the 'run as administrator' option. Try the install again, if you still receive the error, follow the steps below. 

Check Windows is up to date

Windows 10 and 11

  1. Go to Start, then Settings.
  2. Select Update & security, then Windows Update.
  3. Click Check for updates.

If updates install, check for updates again to ensure there aren't any further updates.

Enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
