When installing your Sage software, the following message may appear:

'Error 1628: Failed to complete script based install or Failed to complete installation'

This occurs if the Windows Installer detects another installation in progress. It's commonly caused by clicking Install twice.

If you see this message, close it and check to see if the installation is running.

If this doesn't resolve the issue:

1. Rename the InstallShield folder in:
   
   • 32 bit: C:\Program Files\Common Files
   • 64 bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files

   To do this, right click the folder, click rename and change the name to Installshield_old.

2. Press the Windows key + R, enter %temp% then click OK.
3. Delete the contents of the temporary folder.
4. Attempt the installation again.
