Before installing Sage Accounts Production in a network environment, ensure you have full administrator access to the server folder locations. If your IT support is managed by a third party, contact them to make the necessary arrangements.

Install the network version on the server

1. Double-click the downloaded file, then click Run.
2. Click Install Accounts Production, then click Next.
3. Select Network Configuration, then click Next.
4. Read and accept the licence agreement, then click Next.
5. Under Location of Client List, browse to the folder where you want to store client list files on your server.
6. Under Location of Client Datasets, browse to the folder where you want to store dataset files on your server.

    TIP: If updating an existing network install, enter the current Client List Path and Default Data Path. 

7. In Application Destination Folder, enter the path for the server install (for example, \\servername\Sage Accounts Production\Install).
   • Make a note of this path for later use
8. Click Next, review your settings, then click Next again.
9. Click Finish to complete the server setup.

Install the software on each client computer

1. Browse to the destination folder noted in step 7 above.
2. Double-click Setup.exe.
3. Click Next, then select one of the following options:
   • Workstation – for computers that remain in the office
   • Laptop – for laptops that need offline access to client data
4. Click Next.
5. Use the default installation location or click Browse to choose a different folder, then click Save.
6. Click Next, review the information, then click Next again.
7. Click Finish.
8. If upgrading from an earlier version, repeat these steps on each computer until all installations are up to date.

Activate your software

1. Open Sage Accounts Production.
2. Enter your Sage account number and postcode.
3. Optionally, enter your serial number if available.
4. Click Licence Now.
   • To postpone licensing, click Licence Later. You can use the software for 30 days in trial mode
