You've just started using Sage 50 Payroll and you need to enter sick pay you previously paid in your other software.
You pay your employees occupational sick pay but they've now used this up and need to go on to SSP.
You can enter previous periods of sickness as historical sickness. This ensures no SSP calculates but if they're off again within eight weeks, it's classed as a linking period.

On the navigation bar click Employee and then double-click the employee.
Click the Absence tab then click Diary Entry.
On the Absence Type list click SSP and Historical.
Enter the historical dates of sickness.
Click OK then click Yes to continue.
Click Save.
Under Further Information, click S.S.P. then click the Previous PIW tab.
On the Did this PIW qualify for SSP? list click Yes.
Click OK then click Save.
You've recorded the historical sickness. To automatically calculate SSP, enter the employee's current sickness. Read more >
