Remote Data Access - Which files synchronise?
Description

Remote Data Access uses two functions to synchronise data:

  • Remote File SDK - This synchronises the contents of the Accdata folder
  • Folder Watcher service - This synchronises the non-DTA files which are critical to Sage Accounts

Remote Data Access syncs automatically when changes are made in your software.

This article defines the folders and file types that synchronise through the Folder Watcher service.

NOTE: Archives don’t synchronise over Remote Data Access. The local computer that created the archive stores the archives only in the local archive folder and can open them.

Cause
Resolution
Everything syncs across Remote Data Access except for:
  • Archives
  • Memo attachments - The only memo attachment files that sync are bank statements. All other memos. The text entered in the memo window will sync, attachments won’t
  • Memorised Journals - When you memorise a journal, the software creates a file with the extension *.NJR. These files save in the Journals folder
  • Standard layouts and reports  - Customised reports and layouts sync if their filenames differ from the standard ones
  • Report designer favourites - These are specific to the Windows user
