If you are getting the following error message after clicking Submit at step 4 of the Online Filing Process.

The following exception was raised on performing the http post: Socket Error # 10061
Connection refused

Something within the environment is actively stopping you from submitting to HMRC

This error is usually experienced where there is a proxy server

We recommend you add the following URL to your "Whitelist" for your Firewall(s) and Anti Virus Software:

https://secure.gateway.gov.uk/submission

You will need to remove the Proxy Server element as this is restricting your submission.

Once this is done, you will be able to submit successfully.
