Sage 200 Report Designer - How to change the font and colour properties of an object

The following steps contain everything you need to help you to change the font and colour properties of an object.

To change the text and colour properties of an object
  1. Locate and select the objects you want to change.
    To select a single object click the required object. To select multiple objects, click the first object then press and hold the Ctrl key and then click all the required objects.
  2. Properties pane > Text Style > click the finder button .
  3. Make the changes you require > OK.

    If the object you're amending has a style applied, a confirmation message appears. To apply the changes to all objects that use the same style, click Yes. To apply the changes only to the currently selected objects click No.
    For further information about the options available, please refer to the following section.

You've now amended the font or colour properties for the selected object and should make any further changes you require to the document then save your changes. For further information about how to save the changes, please refer to the section To save the changes to your document later in this article.

The text and colour options available

In the Text Style window you can apply the following text and colour options:

Font

From the drop-down list, choose the required font.
Size To set the size of the font, from the drop-down list, choose the required size.

The default range runs from size 8 to size 72. If your printer driver supports other sizes, you can manually enter the size.

Effects To select one or more of the available effects, select from the following check boxes:
  • Bold
  • Underline
  • Overline
  • Strikethrough - To have a line drawn through the objects selected, select this check box. For example, Strikethrough
  • Italic
  • Double underline - This check box is only available if Underline is selected.
  • Double overline - This check box is only available if Overline is selected.

Note: Depending on the font selected, not all of the above options may be available. This often occurs with non-True Type Fonts such as NewYork.

Colour

This determines the colour of the text. To view the list of available colours > click the drop-down arrow > choose the required colour.

Note: If the colour you want isn't listed, from the drop-down list, choose Custom Colour then set up user defined colours. For more information please refer to the following section.

Align Choose the horizontal alignment of the text within the object.

Within the Properties pane, if you expand the Text Style option you can also choose from the following:

Alignment Choose the horizontal alignment of the text within the object.
Vertical Alignment Choose the vertical alignment of the text within the object.
To define a custom colour

Note: To select a colour, you can choose from the drop-down list or choose Custom Colour to define a different colour for your background.

  1. Text Style window > Colour drop-down list > choose Custom Colour.
  2. From the colour matrix, select the colour you require. Alternatively, enter the hue, saturation, luminosity, red, green and blue values for your colour.
  3. If required, to change the lightness and darkness, drag the slider arrow up and down the luminosity scale.
  4. Add to Custom Colors > OK.

Once you've defined a custom colour it's available within the Text Style window > Colour drop-down list.

To save the changes to your document
  1. Report menu > Report Properties > Report Name > enter a new name for the document > Report Description > enter a new description for the document > OK.

    Report Designer v1.3 and below - Report Explorer pane > select the document name > Properties pane > Name > enter a new name for the document > Enter.

    Tip: You can check your Report Designer version in Help > About > Application > File Version.
  2. File > Save As > File name > enter a new file name for the document > browse to the required location for your document > Save.
  3. File > Exit.
