Projects - Project status
Description

When managing projects, you can define your own custom statuses to track progress. For each status, enter a code and description, and set whether it allows cost postings or project deletion.

Cause
Resolution

By default, the following five project statuses are available:

Status Code Definition Make Postings? Delete Record?
ACTIVE Active Yes No
SNAG Completed, open Yes No
COMPLETED Completed, closed No Yes
SUSPEND Suspended No No
INITIAL Pre-acceptance Yes No

Sage Accounts assigns the default status set in the Configuration Editor when you create a new project. The initial default is ACTIVE, but you can change it if needed.

As a project progresses, update its status to reflect its stage. Use ACTIVE or a similar status to allow cost and billing postings while preventing deletion. When the project is complete and ready for deletion, change the status to COMPLETE.
