Note: This article gives key steps and advice on the migration process but you should always consult the "Upgrading Sage 200 from On Premise to Online" guide here.

Before Migration

Before migrating, the data must be updated to the latest build of Sage 200 Extra. We also recommend that (after backing up the database) standard housekeeping be performed on the data in the form of:
  • Clear Disconnected Logins and Balance ledgers
  • Sales and Purchase Account Maintenance and Purge Transactions
  • Nominal Ledger Account Maintenance and Purge Transactions
  • SOP and POP Archive and Purge
  • Stock Archive and Purge Item History/Batch/Serial Items.
  • Archive Projects
  • Reindex and shrink SQL Database
  • Balance Ledgers and backup again
More information on archiving and deleting data can be found in these F1 help files

You Must Have

  • Downloaded and installed the Sage 200 Extra Online Database Migration Tool and Guide
  • The Workspace Conversion Tool if you want to migrate any customised workspaces from on premise to online
  • The company Attachment Migration Tool if you want to migrate on premise attachment files
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 SP1 installed to create bacpacs that are compatible with Microsoft Azure. These bacpacs will be uploaded to Sage 200 Extra Online via SEOS (the portal).

Note: Please refer to the guide for information on supported operating systems for the migration tool.

Note: Sage 200 Manufacturing is not supported in Sage 200 Extra Online. Please refer to Section 3 of the Migration Guide if the data has or has had Manufacturing.
