Description

By amending the styles on your documents you can customise reports and layouts to your own style, emphasising areas and information where applicable. Any modifications, deletions or new styles created are specific to the document and are not global changes.

Amend the font settings for a variable, text box or expression

You can use one of the following two methods to change the font settings on an object:

  • From the Text toolbar - Select the object you want to amend > from the Text toolbar, choose the required font settings. A message appears asking if you want to update the style with the new font settings. For further information about this, please refer to the following section.
  • From the Properties of an object - Click the object and the font properties appear within the Properties pane. Changes to these properties can be applied to either the object selected or all objects that have the same style applied. For further information about this, please refer to the following section.
Font change settings

When changing the Font properties of an object you can choose to:

  • Change only the properties of the object that you are currently amending, this is known as an Object Change.
  • Change all objects of the same style, this is known as a Global Change.

Report Designer allows you to set a default that applies a Global Change when you amend font properties. To set the default when editing your report or layout, open the Tools menu, choose Options then deselect the Prompt on Style Change check box.

If the Prompt on Style Change check box is selected, whenever you amend the font properties of an object through either the Text toolbar or the Properties pane, a message appears asking if you want to apply the changes to the style. To amend only the selected object, click No or to apply the changes to the style and therefore other variables using that Style click Yes.

Note: When applying new font properties to a style, this does not amend objects which have previously had their properties amended through an object change.

Save the changes to your document
