Before you run this option, ensure that you have the csv file from your provider. You may receive this by email or download it from their website. You need to save it to your computer and know the path to the folder it's saved in.
TIP: As this option updates your employee pension details, we recommend that you take a backup before you import data.
- Click Payroll then Import Pension Updates.
- Click the option for the relevant pension provider.
TIP: Unless you want to access your provider's website, don't click the website link.
- Browse to the folder that contains the csv file from your provider then click OK.
- Check the information then click Apply.
TIP: If there are any errors, to view these, click Errors.
-
When the import is complete, an Imported column appears and the message 'Import successfully completed' appears under the employee list.
- To close the Import a file window click Close.
You have now imported your employee opt-out data and this automatically updates the Pension Assessment window.
TIP: So you can tell which files you've successfully imported, the csv file is moved into an Archive folder within its original folder location.
Error, 'Index is out of range'
This can occur in the following scenarios:
- You receive the incorrect file format from NEST. To import successfully, you need a csv file that comes from SFTP. For further advice about getting the correct file format you must speak to NEST
- You open the csv file and re-save it before importing it into the Pensions Module. Download the file again and ensure you don't open it before you import it into the software
