How to perform a full system back up

CAUTION: We strongly recommend creating a new folder to save your 'back up' in. If you take a backup to a folder where a backup of that same type already exists it will be overwritten by the new back up.

How do I back up a complete system?

  1. Log all other users out of SAPA.
  2. Click File then click Backup.
  3. Choose Complete System (All above + system files) and click Next.
  4. Choose a destination to store the backup and click Next.
  5. Click Finish.

A full system back up can take a long time, depending on the number of clients you have and how many years data is in each client.

If the back up seems to stay on a certain percentage for a while it might be working on a large clients or files, even if it advises its 'not Responding' it is likely the backup is still working.

You will receive a message when the back up is complete. The backup will create a zip file called TotalSageAPA.zip.

TIP: You can rename the file with today's date and time so that it is not overwritten in future. For example: rename the file "TotalSageAPA 1 Jan 2022.zip"
