How do I Restore a backup?
Description

Take the following steps to restore a back up of a client in Accounts Production:

    1. Click on the Clients button on the top toolbar.
    2. Click on the Restore button on the bottom of the client list window. The Restore Dataset window will appear.
    3. Click on the option for Browse and the Select Source Directory window will appear.
    4. Browse to the folder where the backup is located, click and highlight the back up file and then click on Open. The Select Source Directory window will disappear and you will be reverted back to the Restore dataset screen.
    5. The 'Restore data from' location will be automatically completed.
    6. The “Restore data to;” location indicates the directory the backup will be restored to. You can change this to reflect the data path on your system. Change this location to read the correct client year end date, for example;

For example, if the current restore path is C:\APEXDATA\0002\311210\

    • C:\Apexdata determines the drive and the folder the data is saved to
    • 0002 is the folder reference for the Client Code created in SAP, and;
    • 311210 represents the client year end folder location
  1. The Next button will be highlighted and Dataset Information will display the client details you are restoring into Sage Account Production. Click on the Next button.
  2. Keep the defaults unless you want to change the settings. (More details on this option can be found by click on Help next to the window drop down and searching for Restoring Dataset). Click on the Next Button.
  3. Confirm the restore process by clicking on the Restore Button.
  4. Once the prompt 'The data was successfully restored' is shown, click on the Close button.
