Check data error - 'Unable to open the report' or 'Check data files was aborted' appears
Description

This may be because:

  • The Reports folder does not exist.
  • The Reports folder is hidden.
  • The user does not have the required permissions to read the Reports folder.

Cause
Resolution

When you run a check data the following reports are required:

  • DOCCOMM.REPORT
  • DOCERR.REPORT
  • DOCWARN.REPORT

To ensure these reports are in your software you should replace missing or damaged reports or layouts. This also creates the reports folder if it is missing.

You must ensure you restore the correct reports for the version you're using. Reports from a later version may not work in an earlier version.

If the issue is due to incorrect permissions or hidden files and folders, when you restore the reports only backup one of the following messages appears:

  • 'Error opening file'
  • 'Error creating file'
