Global changes: Pensions
Description

When you need to update pension schemes for multiple employees, you can save time by using global changes. 

If you have the Sage 50 Payroll Pensions Module, the Pension Assessment automatically adds pension schemes when employees become eligible jobholders.

 TIP: You should only follow the steps in this guide, if you are switching your default Auto Enrolment scheme that is already assigned to your employees.

Add a pension scheme

  1. Select the required employee, click Tasks, click Global Changes, click Pensions then click Add Pension Scheme.
  2. Complete the Add Pension Scheme window as follows:
    Which scheme do you want to add?Click the finder button and from the drop-down list choose the required pension scheme.
    Is this to be the primary scheme?If this is the primary pension scheme, select this check box.
  3. Click OK, click Yes, then click OK.

Remove a pension scheme

  1. Select the required employees, click Tasks, click Global Changes, click Pensions, then click Remove Pension Scheme.
  2. Click the finder button, then from the drop-down list, choose the pension scheme you want to remove.
  3. Click OK, click Yes, then click OK.

Leave a pension scheme

  1. Select the required employees, click Tasks, click Global Changes, click Pensions, then click Leave Pension Schemes.
  2. Complete the Leave Pension Scheme window as follows:
    Which scheme do you want to leave?Click the finder button and from the drop-down list choose the required pension scheme.
    Date Scheme LeftEnter the date the employees left the pension scheme.
  3. Click OK, click Yes, then click OK.

Set the qualifying scheme opt-in

  1. Select the required employees, click Tasks, click Global Changes, click Pensions, then click Qualifying Scheme Opt In.
  2. Click Yes then click OK.

Set the contractually enrolled status

If you have employees who have joined a pension scheme as defined in their employment contract, you must select this option.
  1. Select the employees, click Task, click Global Changes, click Pensions then click Set Contractually Enrolment Status.
  2. Complete the Set Contractually Enrolled Status window as follows:
    Choose the relevant schemeClick the finder button and from the drop-down list choose the required pension scheme.
    ContractualSelect the check box.
  3. Click OK, click Yes, then click OK.
