Restore a backup
Description

Sometimes you need to go back to a certain point and start again. Whether it's due to a processing error or transferring your payroll data to a new computer. If you've backed up your data, you can restore it back to the point that you took the backup.

Before you restore a backup

Before you restore, print any reports that you need to help you reprocess. To reverse nominal link postings in your Sage Accounts software, print the Nominal Link reports.

If you need to check where you stored a backup, click File then click Backup & Restore Log. This lists the last six times you've taken or restored a backup, for all companies. It also includes the date, time and location of the backup.

CAUTION: Take a backup of your current set of data, just in case you need to get back to where you started.

  1. Go to File, then select Restore.
  2. Select Next and choose which files you want to restore, then select Next.
TIP: Only choose RTI Files or Pension Data Files if you're certain you need either of them. For example, when restoring a backup on a new computer.
  3. Select Browse then locate and double-click the backup file.
  4. Select Next then Finish.
  5. Enter your User NamePassword and processing date then select OK.

You've now restored your payroll data back to the point of your backup.
